Don't worry, I'm not gonna write about itty bitty ceramic babies.

With all the horrible devastation in Japan, I have to just focus on the daily reminders of how lucky I am. Lucky to have a family. Lucky to have a
healthy family. Lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky for so many reasons. Lucky to have precious little moments of happiness with Bennett when we don't have a care in the world and need only to focus on each other. I've come to really appreciate having time alone with the B-ster. Last week we had an afternoon to ourselves so we spent it playing music on the music bed:

We spent it reading stories. Bennett would run into his room, grab a book, then run back down the hallway to the "music room" and sit on my lap as I read to him. I think we read 42 books that afternoon.

It was one of those perfect days without any tantrums, where Bennett followed orders and ate all his lunch and dinner like a good little boy.
I was admiring his beautiful face all day. Even telling him he had the most beautiful face I've ever seen and I wish it would stay like this forever....
THEN, this happened:

Which isn't so horrible. But it was the biggest injury he's ever had. And the picture doesn't do it justice.
Wednesday morning we were heading out the door (earlier than usual!) when I let Bennett walk out the back door on his own. Instead of immediately grabbing his hand like I should have, I reached back to shut the door and the next thing I knew, Bennett had tripped and fallen head first down 3 concrete stairs with a loud thump at the end! It was pretty traumatic for both of us and he was in a lot of pain, crying, bleeding, scared, sad, not knowing what to do. I finally got him to calm down and wiped his face clean. After half an hour of cuddling on the couch he seemed ok and wanted to go back outside. And he took my hand and walked down those same stairs again.
Like no big deal.
No big whoop.
Tough kid, that Beebop.
