'Tis The Season To Do Christmas-y Things
That's what this week has been about. Everything Christmas-y. All the time. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Christmas. But now that we have a nearly 2-1/2 year old, it seems to be turned up a notch.
We have been watching tons of classic Christmas cartoons, classic Christmas musicals/black and white films, attending Christmas parties, sending Christmas cards, baking Christmas cookies, wrapping Christmas presents, mailing Christmas presents, listening to Christmas music, putting up Christmas decorations, reading Christmas books, driving around neighborhoods looking at Christmas lights, etc. I'm not complaining here - I just wanted to see it all laid out in a list all nice and purdy and see how many times I could correctly spell the word Christmas.
I am currently eating a sugar-filled corner of a gingerbread house that Bennett helped us decorate at our 2nd annual gingerbread house decorating party. Now that's what Christmas is all about! Even Becky agreed. Lots of good peeps, lots of sugar coated goodness and lots of good drinks. I think this tradition is a keeper!
It was a crazy mad house of loud noise and icing and toys and candy flying everywhere for a couple hours - but it was so much fun and totally worth it. Cuz you get to EAT your sugary creation afterwards!! yeah!!
What Christmas-y things are you up to?

what?
I haven't blogged since Thanksgiving?? Whew!
I guess after spending all day on the computer, the last thing I want to do is sit at the laptop at 9pm and blog. Sorry. I'm a bad blogger.
Tonight we had an awesome 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Decorating Party with the Hardans and new additions - Greysen, Andrew and Bah Humbug Becky. Will write more on that later.
For now, our Christmas tree...

Thanksgiving
We had a great Thanksgiving at Nona and Grandpa's house.
Things were pretty calm until special guest Justin Bieber showed up.

The Long Weekend...is Finally Over!! by rory ruffner
Since when is Halloween a 4 day holiday??? Friday was bring your costume to Cassie Care day, Saturday was Hunter's costume party, Sunday we rested, and Monday was, finally, the actual day of Halloween.
He wasn't too sure about it at first, but I think he now understands what Halloween is all about.
Bennett even got some candy from Gov. Schweitzer (he's the one in the Batman costume)
And now, after Bennett is in bed, we get to eat his candy. Makes it all worth it!!

So you think you can dance
This should put a smile on all your faces today!
I love this kid's moves...
Here's a link to a video Emily put together of Cate and Bennett:
Cate & Bennett boogie down at Polebridge Palace
Bennett was rockin' my favorite dance move from Love Actually - the point and turn. Seen around 55 seconds into this video:
Hugh Grant Dance
Love it!!

B-log: 2 years and some time
I'm done with counting in months. DONE I tell ya! Some people just keep on doin' it, but I have waited and waited for this day to arrive. It's HAPPENING!!!
Yay!
So, from now on you will just have to do your own math when it comes to how many months old Bennett is.
Back to the B-log:
* Bennett is TWO years old now!! Did you hear?
* Bennett is no longer considered a toddler according to Babycenter.com which I know you all read on a daily basis. He is considered a "Preschooler". I don't get that. What is that? He's only TWO. I'm just gonna call him a kid. Is that ok?
* I just need to interrupt your regularly scheduled B-log to say - Thank GAWD its FRIDAY!!! Yay!!!
* All of a sudden Mr. B is saying the correct words for things. He had such cute little incorrect sayings like "Dadoh" for Logan and "mu-mee" for Music, but now he's saying the correct words! That really makes me wanna cry a little. It's sad that I don't hear "bye Dadoh" in the mornings anymore!
*Although the one word he is having trouble with right now is "hitch". When we went camping and floating the Yellowstone River last weekend he noticed the hitches on the back of all the trucks. Now he points them out on his tractor but says "hutch". When I correct him he repeats "hitch! Yeah! I see it!" in such an excited way.
* The terrible twos are in full force this week. I think they started a long time ago, then chilled out for a bit, but now are back. He's pretty grumpy when we come straight home from daycare and start making dinner without any plans for anything fun or exciting that evening. SO he whines and acts up and annoys his Mama and Dada. I guess its just his way of saying "why are you two so boring and predictable!! Lets walk down to the railroad station and watch trains go by for 4 hours! Forget about supper!"
* He loves floating rivers and fishing and camping and playing in the sand and dirt...
* He had some serious fun with Nona, Grandpa, GranJan and Aunt E Precious (which he can say now!)
Yay!
