walkin'

Mr. Bennett is now walking 90% of the time.

I'm scared.

He's also given me his cold. I'm not too happy about that.

B-log: 11 months

(thanks Cassie for the cute picture!)

Number 1 topic on the B-log today: Fart sounds, ya'll....FART sounds!

Yes, you read that right. This weekend Bennett learned how to make fart sounds on my arm. It was a moment I'll never forget - the three of us sitting on the bed Sunday afternoon (for reasons that are explained below) when Bennett figured out how to blow air against my arm to make a fart sound. I, of course, laughed out loud every time he did this so he knew it was something we loved. He would laugh as hard as he could each time too. it was SO funny. Hands down, one of the best moments of my life. But I'm kinda torn about what to call it. Should I tell him its the fart game? Or come up with another name? Is that bad for a nearly one year old to recognize the word FART?!?!
Looks like Mr B's first word will likely be "fart".

Also a moment I'll never forget - seeing the inside of Rory's forearm. Yep, you read that correct also. EEEewwwwwww. Just gave me a shiver thinking about it. I had walked B-dogg down to farmers market on Sat morning when I got a call on the cell phone. Yeah, I had it in my pocket on vibrate JUST IN CASE. I was talking to Becky S. at her booth when it went off and I jumped 10 feet in the air cuz I'm not used to it. It was Sofia saying she was in the emergency room with Rory - he had a bad crash while biking the helena ridge trail and sliced his forearm open. So half an hour later I show up to the E-room to find Rory getting 22 stiches in his arm. Shewww!! It was pretty nasty. I feel bad for him - but he was lucky to not have broken any bones! He's doing ok, just resting at home on the couch...

This has been an exhausting month, I tell ya. Not as bad as the first sleep deprived month of B's life. But this has been physically exhausting trying to keep up with him during the day. He's been very clingy to Mama (seperation anxiety) and is getting into everything. I think the clinginess is the hardest part...hopefully that will be over soon. But at least he's sleeping all night!!

He's also
* blowing kisses
* drinking from sippy cup
* very close to walking...took 9 steps on Friday!!
* only nursing 2x a day (yay!)
* eating all kinds of solid food...meat, cheese, eggs
* got 4 teeth now

July 4th camping

i got to eat pine cones, stay up late, get a new tooth, swim in the hot springs, AND play with my friend Greysen all weekend long. i got mosquito bites on my forehead, i think Andrew is scary when he sneaks around camp, i like the smiley face blueberry pancake that scary Andrew made for me, i like to scream at dada when i'm in the tent, i like to sleep in mama's sleeping bag when i get cold... what a great camping trip!

the first night it rained and i stayed in the tent until 9 the next morning while dada drank coffee, stoked the fire, and waited for me and mama to come out. went on a VERY long "2 mile" hike to a lake with snow...

every morning dada would spill breakfast down my face while i slept.

i got to help out around camp and put sticks in my mouth. we had a fire going all the time to keep away the bugs and keep me warm.

i like camping...

lucky

We had a great time in Tennessee and miss everyone already!

I'm so lucky to have such a good boy who handled all the traveling like a champ! 4 airports, 6 plane rides, 4 different cars, 6 long road trips, 6 different cities, 5 different houses/pack-n-plays and lots of new/unfamiliar faces is a lot for a 10-1/2 month old.
But Mr. B rocked it.
As usual.
He's such an awesome kid and I'm so lucky he's mine.
