B-log: 17 months

Mr. B is a busy little boy these days. He is

* constantly on the move getting into everything and wanting to grab stuff on shelves, countertops, in cabinets, etc.

* always making funny faces to get a laugh out of you

* holding his hand in front of his mouth when he laughs really hard - which is the funniest thing ever!

* copying everything you do and say

* saying "uh-oh" all day long

* getting taller and can open our pantry doors now

* getting smarter every day - it just blows our minds how much he understands can figure out on his own.

* now able to ride one of his tricycles handed down from the Starr's. He loves it!

AND this was a month of a lot of firsts:

* First time visiting another country (Mexico!)

* First time speaking Spanish - well, it sounded like Spanish anyways. I couldn't understand what he was sayin'....

* First trip to the beach! He loved the sand right away and just kept grabbing handfuls and throwing it over and over and over. By the end of the week he was running all over the beach falling and chasing Cate in the sand.

*First time seeing the ocean! The waves definitely freaked him out a bit at first and he didn't want to touch the water. But by the end of the week he let us dangle his feet in the shallow part.

We all had such a good time - Bennett will have to start saving his money so he can take us back to the beach next year! Es bueno!

mad skillz

Bennett,

Happy 17 month birthday that I almost forgot.

I love your mad dance skills...you've obviously inherited them from me.

Love,

Mama.

First mullet removal

Mullet alert:

On New Years Day we were lucky to have a brave Stacy Starr on hand to remove of the mullet. This was Bennett's FIRST haircut ever. Distracted with fruit snackies and Nona's Italian cookies, he sat very still like a good little boy. And yes, we saved the hair. It really wasn't much, but it made a huge difference. I'll miss those cute little curls - but I won't miss the mullet.

This is the best "After" picture I have right now:
