Glacier Getaway

We took Bennett back to Glacier National Park for the second time in his life. It was a brief, chilly trip but still worth it.

Bennett was more interested in his studies:

The Going-to-the-Sun Road closed (for the season) the next day. Winter is on its way! But for now, we really enjoyed seeing fall in full swing up north:

B-log:12 months (ok, a little late)

12 things we love about our 12-month old:

1. Just have to start off with the fact that he's the freakin' CUTEST baby EVER. Am I wrong?!?!!?

AM. I. WRONG???

those cheeks!
the big belly!
the blonde curls!
that soft, kissable neck!
the button nose!
the chunky monkey thighs!
that 4-1/2 tooth grin!

(and, yes...these are Cassie pics!)

2. That crazy pointer finger always sticking out!

3. His curiousity and seriousness (gives the Ruffner glare when he's serious)

4. His smarts.
He's a baby genius - ain't no denying.
He's figured out so many things lately - the fact that everyone has hair! He's figured out how/when to sign "more" (even though its not exactly the correct sign)- but its cute nonetheless.

5. The fact that he laughs out loud when he or someone else farts (hee hee)

6. He's walking - a bow-legged, sometimes drunken stagger of a walk. With his new backpack he'll be ready for the trails in no time.

7. He's eating all solid food now - chicken, crackers, sandwiches, rack of lamb, sushi, caviar- you name it (which means freedom from nursing for Mama!!)

8. He says "ruff-ruff" (sometimes) for dogs, "quack quack" for ducks and makes car noises when he sees a car

9. He recognizes family on Skype

10. He's social and already has little buddies - glad to know he won't be the socially awkward nerdy nerd that his Mama was most of her life. Lets hope he doesn't need 2-inch thick glasses at the age of 2 either.

11. He's sleeping like a champ and knows Mama don't like 5am wake-up calls no more - he hangs with his Woody doll (from Toy Story) in the crib until 7:00 these days.

12. He loves playing catch with his Papa - he's already good at throwing the ball.

whew...12 came pretty quick. We could list about 100 more things but for now lets just say we're lucky to have such a happy, heathy, smart, snuggable little boy who's perfect in every way.
