it happened at Pine Butte

This past weekend was one of my favorite weekends of the year - the annual Volunteer Weekend at Pine Butte Guest Ranch. TNC owns this BEAUTIFUL ranch on the Rocky Mtn Front and we try not to pass up an opportunity to visit. This year we had beautiful weather - although a snowstorm did blow in Saturday afternoon, the rest of the weekend was great. This was Bennett's first time to Pine Butte and hopefully he will have many more trips there in the future. We ate delicious food (organic and local), went on a killer hike climbing 1500 feet with B in the backpack, saw some wolf tracks, helped clean up the ranch for the summertime guests (Rory helped replace a roof), listened to some great bluegrass music, and had some fun times with my co-workers and their families. Good stuff.

While we were hanging out in the main lodge, Bennett was standing by the coffee table and just decided to let go and stand on his own for about 7 or 8 seconds! He's all "I don't need no stinkin' table to help me stand"! He did it again the next day for a much longer stretch....maybe 12 or 13 seconds?? Anyways, it was pretty cool to see. And it happened at Pine Butte.

let there be teeth

So yesterday I felt a very sharp point on Bennett's bottom gums...his first tooth has just surfaced! Its still pretty small, but by golly its a tooth!

AND we had our first week of 70 degree temps!! It was fun while it lasted.

Happy Earth Day everyone.
And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Theresa!!!! We love you and will see you in June!

B-log: 8 months

Funnest month ever - kissing, high 5-ing, crawling, standing, giggling, cackling, water splashing, nose crinkling, yawning, peek-a-boo-ing, grunting, growling, army rollin', booty scootin', leg slappin' goodness.

Me and my Beebop

A few of my favorite things...

by Aunt E Precious

Beebop's grrrrr face (nose crinkling)
His conversational whispers
The pelvic thrusting when he gets excited...aka "air humping"
All the kisses he loves to give....and get
Knee slapping and giggles
His happy screams when I read him his baby animals book
When he wears his bear suit
Feeding him yogurt and oatmeal
His sleepy yawns
And the fact that he loves his Aunt E
